Nestled amongst revegetated and remnant vegetation farmland near McLaren Vale is Bickleigh Vale Farm nursery and market garden.

For the past 6 years, Diana Bickford and Jen Harvey developed the nursery, producing Greenseed organic seedlings. The property has been in Diana’s family for 40 years and her mother used to run a small plant nursery there so the facilities were easily utilised.

Bickleigh Vale Farm produces NASAA-certified organic vegetable seedlings, along with market garden gourmet organic salad greens and seasonal mixed vegetables which are very popular with Market shoppers

Part of the wide range of Greenseed organic seedlings consist of heirloom varieties including lesser known ones such as kale, a member of the Brassica family which is considered highly nutritious and closer to wild cabbage than domesticated types. Other heirlooms include an extensive tomato range and open-pollinated broccoli.
