You will find Australian Happy Foods at the Willunga Farmers Market every Saturday
Product line: Hand-made foods: breads, pizza, fresh egg pasta lasagna, cannelloni, gnocchi, pasta sauces, sweet temptations and gluten-free treats featuring Willunga almonds and honey
Willunga Hill is the home of ‘Australian Happy Foods’. It’s a Clappis family affair with Andrew and Anna, their daughters Celandine, Arnica and Dana, and Andrew’s parents, Enzo and Sonia.
Slow cooked happy foods enriched with local produce and seasonal happenings reflect the family’s passion for food, love for the region and inspiration the seasons offer.
A Market favourite is Andy’s bread made from organic unbleached flour, rainwater (triple filtered and UV sterilised), heirloom cross culture (rising agent for the bread) and Murray River salt.
It comes down hot from the hill and it’s not uncommon to see young children enjoying it straight from the stall.
Fresh egg pasta creations beautifully complement sauces which include bolognese made from their home-grown beef, napolitana, puttanesca and pesto alla Willungian, made with fresh Willunga almonds.
These sauces are also a perfect match with Australian Happy Foods’ light, soufflé-like gnocchi, good enough to have made the front page of the April/May 2009 edition of ‘Sumptuous’ magazine.
A large range of Australian Happy Foods are available at Minko Wines and Providore, Main Street Willunga. The bread is available there on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and orders are welcome.
Australian Happy Foods are also caterers and suppliers to the trade and their function room ‘Our Place @ Willunga Hill’ is a great place for a celebration.
