Cheong Liew, executive chef at the Hilton declares Triple B – Burns’ Biodynamic Beef, as the best producers of rump steak he has ever eaten. The Triple B farm at Milang on the Fleurieu Peninsula is NAASA-certified biodynamic, giving consumers confidence in knowing it is chemical free. Madeleine and Liam Burns run black Angus cattle and are South Australia’s only retail biodynamic beef producers.
Biodynamic farming uses biodynamic preparations and compost, which Liam supplements with fish and seaweed concentrates and molasses. Spraying this onto the pastures then feeds the soil microbes, which feeds the grass, which feeds the cows.
Only grass-fed meat has all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Biodynamic farming also ensures animals are treated in a stress-free manner whenever they are handled.
Regular customers know there is always prime steak (scotch, fillet, porterhouse, rump and rib eye cutlets) and roasts (sirloin, bolar, topside, rolled ribs, standing ribs, and nitrate-free corned beef) available at the Market. Every week new customers arrive, having heard the regulars’ tales of tender, succulent beef.
Other delicious beef cuts include stir fry, schnitzels, gravy beef, stewing meats and preservative-free mince. The sausages come in Italian, herb and garlic, or gluten and preservative-free sausages and patties.
Customers are welcome to phone during the week and order their requirements for Saturday to avoid disappointment.
