Market customers know to get in early to buy Mrs Stone’s Mt Magnificent Farm fig jam, fresh-picked old-fashioned dahlias and strawflowers, and gingerbread men, as they sell out weekly.

Market buyers go through 30 or more bunches of Mt Magnificent Farm’s bright and multi-coloured flowers each week! It’s a rich and vibrant scene to see customers wander through the Market with these flowers draped over their arms.

All of Mrs Stone’s hand-made products are made with her farm and local produce and they include her delicious strawberry and plum jams, marmalade, the sell-out fig jam and others depending on what is available seasonally.

Mt Magnificent Farm pickles include her ever-popular green tomato chutney and cauliflower mustard pickles. Apricot chutney is also available seasonally.

Without a doubt, gingerbread men have become a market favourite. Popular with children, Mrs Stone makes about 100 each week which are usually eagerly eaten on site as children and parents continue their shop.

Mrs Stone has been on Mt Magnificent Farm for 60 years and it is where her summer vegetables of cucumbers, carrots, beans and peas are grown.

Mt Magnificent Farm gate opens on Sunday afternoons. Look for the signs on Mt Magnificent Road and on the gate.
