You will find Frantic Whisk at the Willunga Farmers’ Market almost every Saturday selling hand-made butter puff pastries and delightful biscuits.
Run by Sam Francisco, an array of fine pastries is produced at his Inman Valley Road bakery each week along with many varieties of butter biscuits. Willunga almonds and Fleurieu milled flour are among locally sourced ingredients used to make almond tarts, to-die-for apple pies, various strudels and sweet butter pretzels, to name just a few pleasures.
Currants, mixed candied peel, spices and sugar wrapped in a disc of butter puff pastry form the ever-popular Eccles cake. Spinach and cream cheese rolls are available for the savoury-inclined.
Sam’s fantastic biscuit range consists of Nougat Rounds (a terrific toffee thin), Macadamia Biscuits, Chocolate Chip, Coconut Crunch, Almond Delights, Dutch Shortbread (frantically whipped until light and fluffy – a namesake process and Sam’s personal favourite), Speculaas (spice biscuit), and Melting Moments (the meltiest ever, in traditional lemon).
Frantic Whisk biscuits are distributed wholesale to outlets on the Fleurieu Peninsula, in the Adelaide Hills and various Adelaide metropolitan stores.
