Minko Wines is a boutique, family-run Mt Compass vineyard producing premium, cool-climate wines with an environmentally friendly ethos. The Nangkita and Tookayerta Creeks flow through Minko and their wetlands and associated native vegetation are valued features of the property along with some 66 hectares of heritage-listed scrub.

Minko Wines specialises in Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their flavoursome extra virgin olive oil goes by the colourful name of Minko Gold.

Here is a taste of two of Minko’s award-winning wines:

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon RESERVE

The outstanding fruit was grown on glacial sands over ironstone. Two years in French and American oak produced a wine with a generous, mouth feel, rich dark berry and a touch of savoury olive flavours with aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco and earth.

2006 Unwooded Chardonnay
Mild straw colour with a slight golden hue. Aromas of apple and pear, with citrus hints and floral notes. An elegant palate with a creamy mouth feel and a fresh, crisp, green apple finish.
