You will find the Alexandrina Cheese Company at the Willunga Farmers Market every Saturday fortnight.

Product range: Jersey Cow cheeses, cream and milk

To make award-winning Alexandrina Cheese, each day starts with rich, creamy milk from 80 (well loved and individually named!) Jersey cows. They are fed on long, green, clover pasture, grown on the rolling hills of the family farm, nestled on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.

The McCaul family began making cheese in 1902 and third generation Dan McCaul and his family continue the tradition in their purpose built cheese factory at Mt Jagged.

Using exclusive starter cultures and rennet, the manufacturing process has gone back in time over a hundred years, returning to the traditional methods of cheese making.

As reward for this honouring of tradition, Alexandrina Cheese Company received 13 gold and silver medals at the 2008 South Australian Dairy Awards.

That same year they waved the Australian flag at the Inaugural World Jersey Cheese Awards on Jersey Island, United Kingdom. The McCaul family were delighted to receive two prizes from the prestigious World Jersey Cheese Awards; one for their Cheddar and the other for their Edam.
