2010 Wilmark Awards

A crowd of 70  stallholders and members recently celebrated the markets' best. They lapped up the superb atmosphere of ‘Our Place’ atop Willunga Hill.
Awards presented by WFM members Leon Bignell MP and David Griggs showcased the WFM cream of the crop, with awards presented for “Best Customer Service’ and “Favourite stall’ being hotly contested.

Hundreds of votes were cast by market shoppers in the three weeks preceding the awards, nominating their favourite stalls and market personalities for a variety of awards.

And the winners are...
Favourite Stall – Harts Vegetables
Best Customer Service – McLaren Vale Orchards
Best Morning Person – Quin McPherson; WFM’s best bell ringer from Bush Pepper Catering
Shopper of the Year – Kerry and Brad Gerritt
Grower of the Year – Bickleigh Vale Farm
Best Value Added Business – Willunga Pasta Co
Outstanding Service Award – Jude McBain

The stallholders all had their vote too, with Brad and Kerry Gerritts taking out the stallholder nominated award of ‘Favourite Shopper’, receiving a complimentary 12 month WFM membership as their take home prize.

‘This really is a celebration of the best of the market’, Vicki Osland, WFM acting chairperson says.
‘We are recognising all the stallholders customers love, and also the members contribution to the market.
‘The members really help make the market what it is, we wouldn’t be here without them.’

Between the formalities and complimenting the wonderful array of Northern Italian cuisine being dished out, WFM member Mike Bevan kept the guests entertained with melodious Brazilian themed tunes. For all those who missed out on the night, you can catch Mike playing at the Adelaide Guitar Festival.

With such an outstanding year of stalls and produce behind us we are looking forward to another year of the best produce the Fleurieu has to offer.
